A 6-session course with Mindfulness teacher Liz Clark, until November 17th, 2021. A Day of Mindfulness & Peace, on Sunday 31st October 10.30am–3.30pm is included in the course.

This Mindfulness course will particularly address the increased stress experienced by the coronavirus pandemic and its related social restrictions. The cognitive therapy element offers a structure within which participants can develop coping skills and an understanding of how the brain works in dealing with stress. This developing awareness is held within an attitude of compassion towards self and others and the world within which we live.

“Mindfulness is a wise and potentially healing way of being in relationship to what befalls us in life,” suggests Jon Kabat-Zinn in his book The Healing Power of Mindfulness. He quotes the results of a survey undertaken in 2003 of the brain changes in participants who had attended an MBSR Course, that indicated a shift toward more positive emotion and more effective processing of difficult emotions while under stress. A further study in 2018 provided evidence that mindfulness practice predisposes us to greater emotional intelligence and balance, and ultimately to greater happiness. This evidence of the healing power of mindfulness led the National Institute for Clinical Excellence in the UK to approve the use of mindfulness.

Home practice and a commitment to the whole programme is an essential requirement of the course. Please contact Liz on 07710942152 or email suggesting a suitable time for a brief discussion before booking

Course fee: £240 includes all course material. Early Bird Price until 1st September, 2021: £220
