A talk and book launch with James Ashby, trustee of the Hamblin Trust. Two thousand years ago, Jesus himself said that around the early years of the 21st century, humankind would step up in consciousness to a deeper level of spirituality: to a deeper level of understanding and attitudes to our own lives, to the Earth and to each other.
We are now seeing this coming to pass, as many young children are demanding that the population of the world start respecting the planet instead of exploiting it for personal and general profit.
For hundreds of years, religious leaders of churches have been looked upon as teachers of spirituality, but as we transition from the old age to the new, the numbers of church adherents have been steadily falling. Why? Because so many churches are considered to be out of touch with modern thinking; and because since the 5th century AD, the deeper understanding of Jesus’ teachings have been virtually ignored, if not avoided, and have seldom been heard from the pulpit.
Yet a desire for individual spirituality is embedded to a greater or lesser extent in all folk on earth, although many have lost this awareness, as there has been no prominent vehicle for promoting this understanding.
Mindfulness, meditation, yoga and similar practices are becoming far more widespread than the 2-5% of the population who attend church services in Britain.
So, what was the Originator of Christianity saying on this subject?
James Ashby’s latest book, Stepping Into New Consciousness, gives a brief introduction to understanding His deeper message, and what it means to us individually.
