What does Christianity mean today? Jesus taught over 2,000 years ago in a language which was open to different levels of interpretations. He surely knew that, and in His teaching foretold the potential we would face now. If we follow that potential, taught also by other ancient avatars, we will realise that the world’s problems will fade into inner joy as we understand that our true purpose is to serve, taking only for our needs for such service.
Just two thousand years ago a young Jew, living in the Middle East under Roman oppression, started a wake up call to change the world for the better. He taught that Life is about Loving, about loving others as well as ourselves, and loving and respecting the planet.
He taught that death is not final; it is just one short step on the long pathway of the soul. He taught that we are made up of three aspects: Body, Mind and Spirit, and that when death comes communication is lost through the Body and the Mind, but the Spirit lives on, for it is an indestructible part of the Divine itself.
The most fascinating teaching of this young Jew is that he predicted that in two thousand years’ time (That Is Now) mankind would be offered the opportunity to step up into a higher level of Consciousness. He instructed some of his followers, as reported in two of the current records, to go into town, where they would find a man carrying a pitcher of water . They were told to follow him, as he would lead them to an Upper Room, where they could make ready the feast of Passover. Many of his practical statements also bore an underlying message, and with this instruction he is telling his followers that , when we come to the Age of Aquarius, symbolised by the Man Carrying A Pitcher of Water, we will have that opportunity to rise to a higher level of Consciousness.
“Who Are We? Why Are We Here?” Are the two deepest questions for us just now. We have to find our own answers for ourselves, as we are all different, and all have different purposes.
This little book sets out the background of this little known teaching of the young Jew. It is intended to help find those answers, that, once found, will bring us to a state of inner joy, absolute confidence, and lasting peaceful assurance.
