Astrological update on 9th November 2020

There are three key planetary features in the middle of November:

1.  Jupiter and Pluto, in close proximity during the second and third weeks of the month, are exactly conjunct on 12th November,

2.  Mars, retrograde in Aries since September, goes direct on 15th November,

3.  The new Moon on 15th November is in Scorpio.

These three facts are linked as both Mars and Pluto rule Scorpio and the new Moon in this sign is sextile the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. There is great potential for direct action and transformation.

The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction occurs at the same degree of Capricorn as the Saturn-Pluto conjunction last January. The Saturn-Pluto conjunction brought massive changes in our lives, largely through the government-imposed lockdown put in place to contain the coronavirus. The second lockdown when Jupiter and Pluto are conjunct seems less severe: establishments such as schools, universities and banks can remain open. There is greater freedom to exercise outdoors. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and opportunity but it is in fall in Capricorn, suggesting that it is more challenging to demonstrate these properties. With the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction, we may see greater potential for controlled changes and transformation of structures and large organisations.

During the middle of November, the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is quincunx the north node of the Moon in Gemini suggesting there could be a variety of changes. Ways of educating young people, shopping behaviours, where and how much people work are examples of the parts of life that are changing. There are many systems in our lives that have outworn their usefulness and, as is often the case, old systems have to be dismantled before new ones can be established. Change can bring progress but people need time to adapt. The quincunx between the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction and the north node of the Moon indicates that mid‑November is a time for adaptation and adjustment, learning how to modify our routines to accommodate changes, revise our ways and restructure organisations. Experience still to be gained from new ways and systems will complement the experiences gained from the ways we have become familiar with. Being able to adapt as systems and approaches to life change enriches our experience of life on Earth and the wonderful opportunity to learn more about this level of life.

While Mars was retrograde, it was not so easy to push forward with plans. We have seen difficulties in the trade deals between the UK and the EU, the results of the presidential election in the USA challenged and the hopes of a vaccine against Covid 19 experience a temporary setback. This can be frustrating but enables deeper consideration of the issues. After extended deliberation, a slightly different course of action may emerge and prove to be a better way forward. It can seem like waiting for further pieces of a jigsaw puzzle to appear before all pieces can be put in place. However, everything happens at the perfect time, not too soon and not too late.

The new Moon in Scorpio, linked to the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction by sextile, opens up opportunities to go more deeply into what is happening. It could seem an intense time but one that focusses attention on what needs to change. This can be a time when we look more deeply at organisations and establishments to see if they are really serving society. We can also look at our own approach to life. Does it serve the deeper call in our hearts?

Part of the profound transformation that the line-up of planets during November offers may be a deepening appreciation of our spiritual nature. On 17th November Mercury in Scorpio is exactly opposite Uranus in Taurus. There is the potential for our values to become more meaningful as we realise deeper truths following on from the inner work that took place while Mercury was retrograde in the last half of October. There is so much opportunity during November for transformation, both at an individual level and collectively.

Everything works out at the right time in the cosmic plan. We cannot rush it. Saturn rules time, and hence also patience. It is associated with restrictions and limitations and closely linked with the law of karma. Saturn has been prominent throughout 2020. Many have found the conditions imposed on them to be very limiting but they may not have appreciated the extent of what they have been working on. It is hard enough to comprehend such a vast subject as karma at a personal level and even more so to consider the karma that is being worked out at national and international levels. However, we can trust that all is working out according to the divine plan for our individual development and the development of the human race.

Keep well, stay happy.

Astrological update on 22nd October 2020

Mercury has been retrograde in Scorpio since 15th October bringing opportunities to look at what we think about much more deeply. At this time of major changes in the evolution of humanity, this deep, inner work is necessary for the voice of our spirit to be expressed. It is not always comfortable but vital for growth.

At the beginning of the last week of October, retrograde Neptune in Pisces is semisextile retrograde Mars in Aries. While a semisextile is a harmonious aspect, it requires effort to make the most of it. There could be benefits from integrating the dynamic and courageous energy of Mars into endeavours to be kind and compassionate. At a deeper level, there can be much inner work going on to access the more spiritual sides of ourselves. Although this is a minor aspect, it expresses so much of what is going on in life at present. Humanity is in the process of a major shift in consciousness from being predominantly materialistic and self-centred to considering others and the spiritual side of life.

On 28th October retrograde Mercury moves from Scorpio back into Libra and Venus also moves into Libra, where it is in dignity. These planets will be semisextile for a short time during which we can consciously work with the planetary energies to bring greater harmony into our interactions with other people. Both planets stay in Libra, although not in aspect, until 10th November. We can use this time to enhance understanding in our relationships. Understanding and harmony are fundamental to the peace that is linked with Libra.

At the full Moon on 31st October, the Moon is in Taurus and the Sun in Scorpio. The Moon is exactly conjunct Uranus. It is worth looking at these factors individually to be able to understand how profound their interaction can be. The Sun in Scorpio is associated with the soul lesson of peace through love and with transformation. The Moon is in exaltation in Taurus so it can manifest its spiritual energies most easily. Uranus represents the lightening flash of truth. Taurus is linked with our values. Together, this suggests that this full Moon provides a window for transformation, to leave the past behind and open our eyes to more meaningful values that better serve humanity at its current stage of development.

At the time of the full Moon and for two days afterwards, retrograde Mercury in Libra is square Saturn in Capricorn. Both signs are cardinal suggesting that there could be active talks at a deeper level to resolve current difficulties. This is invaluable but we might not see much coming out of the talks until after Mercury goes direct on 3rd November. Mercury remains square to Saturn for a further four days. It is often only when direct motion is well established that the outcome of deliberations during the retrograde phase can be put into action. At that time, new guidelines or regulations could be announced but they might not be popular with everyone. We can all work with the energy of a Mercury-Saturn square by watching what we say and choosing our words carefully. It is through diligent effort to understand other people that we have the greatest likelihood of working with them for the highest good of all concerned.

On 12th November, Jupiter and Pluto are conjunct in Capricorn at the same degree as the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in January. Pluto is the planet of transformation and its interaction with other major planets this year relates to many of the world-wide changes we have seen. The Saturn-Pluto conjunction signified limitations and restrictions imposed by the authorities. These became apparent with the onset of the pandemic and subsequent period of lockdown. The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction at the same degree activates the planetary energies that were operative in January but in a different way. Jupiter is the planet of opportunity, optimism and expansion. It is also one of the planets associated with money. The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction could see an expansion of the changes that are happening for people, both individually and collectively. These include changes in the organisations and structures that have fulfilled their useful purpose in society. At an international level, there are currently more talks about a Brexit trade agreement. At home, greater financial help is being announced as restrictions on socialising are affecting more areas of the UK due to the increase in the number of cases of coronavirus.

At this time, the Sun is in Scorpio, associated with the soul lesson of peace through love. It is possible that more people could be aware of, or striving for, greater inner peace. We are all touched by what is going on in one way or another. Although we may feel that we are small cogs in the vast wheel of life, each small effort we make helps the overall situation and contributes to intercontinental efforts to work out a new way of life and systems that serve us as individuals and are for the good of all life on Earth. The magnitude of current changes is enormous but the benefits of what could come out of them are even greater.

Keep well, stay happy.

Astrological update on 08/10/20

Patricia Godden BSc PhD dip WESA FAPAI is a scientist turned astrologer. With a degree in physiology and biochemistry and a doctorate in endocrinology, Patricia worked in scientific research. She is now a consultant astrologer, author, speaker and teacher.

At the beginning of the second week of October, Mercury in Scorpio is opposite retrograde Uranus in Taurus. Deep and profound thoughts could be at odds with novel ideas and concepts that relate to the practicalities of life. While this can lead to some tension, there is also the potential to make unusual associations that could open up a way forward.

During the second week of October, retrograde Mars in Aries is square Pluto in Capricorn. A lot of energy may be put into bringing about changes that have been considered over the months that Pluto was retrograde. Our desires and will may be at variance with profound changes that are happening in life. Moderating actions may be more productive than rash or impetuous deeds. As retrograde Mars is trine to the south node of the Moon in Sagittarius and sextile to the north node of the Moon in Gemini, there are opportunities to integrate wisdom from the past into everyday communication in order to find a way through current challenges.

There is a sextile between Jupiter in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces during the second and third weeks of October. As Jupiter is the planet of optimism, opportunity and expansion, and Neptune the planet of vision and transcending boundaries, there could be opportunities to go beyond what has been done before and incorporate spiritual ideals into the structures of everyday life.

Mercury goes retrograde three times every year, each time for about three weeks. These periods are essential to allow a deeper, inner level of thinking and for new thoughts to emerge from the subconscious. Mercury goes retrograde on 15th October in the water element of Scorpio. This gives us the opportunity to think more deeply about our emotional responses and behaviours. Could we make life more peaceful by changing how we react to situations?

The new Moon on the 16th October is in Libra. We can take advantage of both luminaries being in the air sign of balance and harmony by doing what we can to bring those qualities into our lives. This is not just in our personal relationships but also looking at how we balance the different facets of our life: the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parts. So often we are focussed on our physical life, our body and outer life. Appreciating that we are spiritual beings living on Earth brings another dimension to our lives and helps us put the whole of life into a much broader perspective.

From 18th to 21st October, Mercury is again opposite Uranus but this time, both planets are retrograde. While we might be dissatisfied with the current state of affairs, we could get sudden clarity on the deeper meaning of the conditions we find ourselves in. If we open up our minds to new ways of thinking, we could come up with brilliant new ideas and answers to our questions.

At about this time, Mars in Aries is square Jupiter in Capricorn. A Mars-Jupiter square in cardinal signs can indicate the need for discipline to avoid overenthusiastic actions. However, as Mars is retrograde, the tendency to be impulsive or hasty might be attenuated so that the energy of the fiery planet can be better employed in establishing new growth and development in structures and organisations. Patience and self-control could be advantageous when looking at new ventures. As Venus in Virgo is trine Jupiter it may be easier to pay attention to detail in practical and down-to-earth matters including financial considerations. By 23rd October, Venus is trine to Saturn in Capricorn bringing a feeling of greater stability.

The significance of balance and harmony, equilibrium and peace, will be highlighted towards the end of October. On 28th October retrograde Mercury moves from Scorpio back into Libra and Venus also moves into Libra, where it is in dignity.

Astrological update on 25th September 2020

Patricia Godden BSc PhD dip WESA FAPAI is a scientist turned astrologer. With a degree in physiology and biochemistry and a doctorate in endocrinology, Patricia worked in scientific research. She is now a consultant astrologer, author, speaker and teacher.

At the start of the last week in September, Mercury in Libra, the sign that seeks harmony and balance, is opposite retrograde Mars, the planet of initiative and drive for action. Both of these planets are square Saturn, still retrograde in Capricorn. There could be some tension during this period of dynamic change due to a sense of urgency but also of wanting to get things right. New ideas may not be welcome by all. It could be beneficial to be patient. Time and effort may be necessary to draw up guidelines that are fair for all sides.

For two days during the last week of September, Venus in Leo is quincunx Pluto and retrograde Saturn in Capricorn. The sense of self in relation to the authorities may feel challenged but as Venus is sextile to the north node of the Moon in Gemini, talking about the different facets of what is going on could help.

The Sun will be quincunx Uranus for a couple of days at the end of September and the beginning of October. It could be a time when we adjust to what is happening around us. Whatever this might be, this quincunx shines light on truth. Adapting to different conditions could help us move forward on our path to bring greater truth and light to Earth. About this time, Saturn and Pluto go direct: Saturn on 30th September and Pluto on 5th October. Ideas and plans considered during the months when these planets were retrograde will begin to manifest at an outer level over the next few weeks.

At the full Moon on 1st October, the Sun is in Libra and the Moon is in the opposite sign of Aries. As the Moon is close to retrograde Chiron, this highlights how we feel about ourselves as individuals in contrast to how we relate to other people. Can we find ways to express ourselves, our spirit, while also considering what is happening for others? How can we integrate being an individual and a part of society? It could be beneficial to think about the unique gifts each of us has to offer, be that in our family, community or at work. We each have an essential role in life.

Mercury in Scorpio will be opposite Uranus in Taurus at the end of the first week of October. Superficial knowledge is no longer enough and we may choose to look deeper, below the surface, to understand what people are saying. This could produce new and original ideas of how to use humanity’s resources.

During the second week in October, retrograde Mars is square Pluto highlighting the degree of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in January 2020. However, retrograde Mars also forms harmonious aspects to the nodes of the Moon, which are on the Sagittarius-Gemini axis. Integrating past wisdom into everyday communication could help establishments and organisations as they adapt to new conditions. Being willing to connect different ideas and make a variety of small changes could ease the enormity of the changes that are taking place in life.

For the first three weeks in October and covering the time of the Mars-Pluto-nodal axis interactions, Neptune in Pisces is sextile Jupiter in Capricorn. This suggests there are more opportunities to be kind and compassionate as well as openings to integrate spirituality into service. A greater awareness of spiritual values and that everything is part of a universal whole, may encourage each of us to do the best we can in our own lives and trust that this contributes to, and serves, the entirety of life on Earth.

The changes that are happening at present are enormous. We are gradually moving from a materially-based society to a more mentally-aware one. Our thoughts, ideas and ideals are gradually becoming as, if not more, important than how much ‘stuff’ we own. We are also gradually moving from predominantly physically-orientated beings to awareness of being spiritual beings living life on Earth. The importance of the welfare of the whole of society, the animal and plant kingdoms and the wellbeing of the planet we live on are increasing. The small as well as the big things that each of us can do in our own lives to move and work with these changes, are of immeasurable value.

Keep well, stay happy.

Astrological update on 17th September 2020

At the new Moon on 17th September, the Sun and Moon are conjunct in Virgo. This can indicate a new beginning in analysing what is going on through being meticulous in looking at the detail. If there is temptation to be critical, either of ourselves or of others, it might be helpful to consider that we are all works in progress as we strive towards the perfection of the Creator.

The south node of the Moon, an indicator of the past, is in Sagittarius and the north node of the Moon, an indicator of what we are currently trying to achieve, is in Gemini. At the time of the new Moon, the Sun and Moon are square to this nodal axis. This Tsquare formation highlights the opportunity to integrate wisdom gained in the past into daily communications. As the point of resolution of this Tsquare is in Pisces, it is possible that kindness, compassion and looking at spiritual values could help.

Pluto and Saturn have both been retrograde in Capricorn for several months enabling us to look more deeply at how we organise our lives and the structures of major establishments in society. Another planetary aspect at the time of the new Moon is the trine from the Sun-Moon conjunction to Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn. The Sun and the Moon metaphorically shine light on the energies of these outer planets. It is a time when insights garnered during their retrograde phases can become more apparent although outer manifestation of that wisdom may not be seen for a few days yet.

Saturn stations on 28th September to go direct on 30th September. Pluto stations on 3rd October to go direct on 5th of the month. When planets station to go direct, it can seem as if they are bursting with new energy that they really want to express. While this can bring relief from tension, expression of that energy is weak and not yet fully formed. The energies cannot be expressed completely until after the direct motion of the planets are fully established, which will be further into October. From then on, new possibilities that were considered during the planets’ retrograde phases can be put into action. New ideas and impulses that surfaced from the subconscious to the conscious mind during the time of deeper inner work may lead to re-structuring those parts of society that needed overhauling. This is all part of the spiral of evolution.

During the last two weeks of September, Mercury will square Jupiter then Pluto then Saturn. An expansion of ideas at the beginning of this time may reveal deeper issues that need to be considered. By the beginning of the last week of the month, Mercury will be opposite Mars and both planets will form a Tsquare with Saturn, which is still retrograde at this time. This could provide the opportunity for cautious talks about plans to move forward. It could be beneficial to try to understand other peoples’ points of view and how they are feeling. It is a time of being patient and thinking carefully about how we say what we want to say.

Retrograde Mars in Aries continues to square Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn even after these two planets have gone direct. There is inherent tension in this square as Mars, the planet linked with the urge for action, is moving counter to its direct motion while Saturn, the planet associated with limitation and delays, is now moving forward. There could be some frustration but there is also a feeling to this square of making sure that things are done properly, that no rash fast-fix is attempted. All new initiatives have to be carefully thought out to ensure that they are right for the profound transformation that is going on for individuals and the whole of life on Earth.

In the last week of September, Venus in Leo is quincunx Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. Venus is also trine retrograde Mars and both of these planets are in the fire element. This can be interpreted as new ideas, incentives and aspirations concerning values or financial issues requiring adaptation before they are finalised.

There is a lot happening astrologically over this period. It is as if we are being led, step by step, through cycles within cycles. The yearly retrograde movements of the outer planets can seem all-important as they occur. However, they are only part of much longer cycles. The evolution of humanity, indeed of all life, is a long but wondrous process. We can engage with this process by enjoying each step as much as possible, by looking for what we are learning, both as individuals and collectively, through our current circumstances, and appreciating that all is part of a much bigger plan for life on Earth.

Keep well, stay happy.

Astrological update on 30th August 2020 by astrologer Patricia Godden BSc PhD dip WESA FAPAI.

At the full Moon on 2nd September, the Sun is in Virgo and the Moon is in the opposite sign of Pisces. There are many interpretations of this full Moon. Pisces is associated with kindness and compassion while Virgo, an earth element sign, relates to service. Simply being kind and compassionate to other people is a form of service. Both Virgo and Pisces are mutable signs and both are, in their individual ways, linked with soul lessons of wisdom. At the full Moon, we may choose to withdraw from the business of our outer lives for a short while in order to contact the wisdom that lies deep within us and to find inner peace. The Pisces-Virgo axis can also be thought of as linking spirituality and earth.

During the first three days of September, the Sun in Virgo is trine Uranus in Taurus. The Sun signifies the creative life force of spirit and Uranus is sometimes called the truth- and light-bringer. As both of these heavenly bodies are in earth signs, we can use this time consciously to bring more truth and light into our everyday lives. As the earth element relates to service, we can serve life in its many forms on Earth by radiating light and love to the world.

At this time, Venus in Cancer is opposite the Pluto-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn. This emphasises the pull between affections in the home environment and the control or power of authority. Some people’s feelings are closely linked with their financial position and this may have been drastically altered by world events. It can be beneficial to do what we can to maintain inner calm and be patient with loved ones. Venus and the Pluto-Saturn conjunction are square to Mars forming a configuration called a T‑square. This creates tension but the resolution of this T‑square is to be found in the qualities of Libra, the sign of balance, impartiality, understanding and fairness. Consciously seeking these qualities can go a long way to ease tension and create harmony.

Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn have been in Capricorn for much of this year and will remain there until well into December. The last time these three planets were in this sign was over seven hundred years ago. This planetary configuration is associated not only with major and deep changes in the structures and organisations of society but also within ourselves. We are currently living through a period when humanity is making profound changes at all levels. People are becoming more aware of the problems associated with a strong emphasis on materialism and power. By examining and modifying our own approach to life, if we deem that necessary, we are contributing to the changes that are going on throughout the world. These changes are leading towards a way of life that is more conscious of the needs of others, of animals, planets and the environment.

Wherever Mars is in a horoscope is where there is courage, drive and an input of energy. Over the last few weeks Mars in Aries has been square to Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, all retrograde in Capricorn, adding to the incentive to make the most of the current opportunities for profound changes in society, particularly in governments, large organisations and companies. On 10th September, Mars begins its retrograde phase, which will last until the second week of November. This is a time when, as individuals and collectively, we can re-evaluate how we use our energy. By reconsidering the motivation behind our actions, we can ensure that they are in line with the core of our being, our higher self, rather than selfish desires of the personality. By being patient and taking time to consider new ideas, we are more likely to remain calm and better able to take the right action at the right time.

Jupiter has been retrograde in Capricorn since May. During the intervening time, we have had the opportunity to look more deeply at our own integrity and sense of justice. By 14th September, Jupiter will be moving direct again so the wisdom we have garnered during the retrograde phase can be actively used in service.

While Saturn and Pluto are still retrograde, we can continue to look deeply within ourselves to establish what we as individuals want to change. In the next few weeks, both of these planets will go direct and we will then be able to start making the changes we have been considering. These changes will be paralleled by changes on a wider scale including nationally and globally. Humanity is evolving at a rate that we have not seen during our lifetimes. This rate of evolution is challenging but everyone alive today is part of this profound transformation. In their own individual and diverse ways, all are contributing towards a better future for the human species and for all life on Earth. This is part of the eternal spiral of life ever moving towards the perfection of the Creator.

Keep well, stay happy.

Astrological update on 15th August 2020 by astrologer Patricia Godden BSc PhD dip WESA FAPAI.

At the time of writing, Mars in Aries is square Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter, which are all in Capricorn. Independence and individuality are at odds with the power of authority. There is a lot of strain and tension, which, among other things, has been illustrated by the number of people rushing to return to Britain from France before the introduction of quarantine restrictions. By 17th August, the Sun and Mercury are trine to Mars bringing a helpful energy for discussions and new ideas. However, as the Sun and Mercury also form quincunxes to Pluto and Saturn, some adjustments may be necessary to comply with the authorities.

In recent weeks, many people are beginning to realise that something needs to shift. As you will see below, we are entering a phase when deep changes could be made and it is up to us to see how much we, as individuals, are willing to modify our own way of life in order to play our part in the collective changes that are needed to resolve worldwide issues.

From 15th to 17th August, Uranus in Taurus is stationary prior to going retrograde. The need for truth and light could be highlighted at this time. On 17th August, Uranus begins its yearly retrograde phase, which will last until the middle of January next year. During this retrograde phase, new ideas coming up from the subconscious could inspire changes that are for the benefit of all life: the animal and plant kingdoms, humanity and planet Earth.

At the new Moon on 19th August, the Sun and Moon are conjunct in Leo, the sign associated with the soul lesson of love. Mercury is close by. There is a quincunx between these planets and Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. Both of these signs of the zodiac, in their individual ways, relate to organisation. We may choose to use the new Moon to send out thoughts of love and light into the world to help those in positions of leadership and authority as we all adapt to a new way of life.

For a week towards the end of August, Mars in Aries is exactly square Saturn in Capricorn. This can indicate tension between wanting to press on with new actions and wanting to hold back. Rather than either rushing into new initiatives or being too afraid to do anything, we can achieve the most by pacing ourselves and considering all new initiatives carefully.

All of the outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are retrograde for the rest of August. Jupiter is the first planet that goes direct again but that is not until the second week of September. The time until then is invaluable to look at a deeper level within ourselves, to take time to assess how well we are aligned to our inner truth. We may decide to make some adjustments in our way of life that could help us realign to our core values. With Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto retrograde in the cardinal sign of Capricorn, there is much energy to pursue such an inner search proactively. Retrograde Uranus is in the fixed sign of Taurus so we can be determined and persevere with our quest for truth. Neptune, retrograde in the mutable sign of Pisces, encourages us to go with the flow and to look within to the spiritual life. It is possible to use the qualities of these retrograde planets actively, with determination and a willingness to be flexible as we search for truth within ourselves.

As we are willing to change ourselves, we are contributing to the profound transformation that is going on in our society, including the structures of businesses and governments, and to the evolution of humanity. By changing ourselves, we can change the world. We are co-creators of our lives and by appreciating our inner power, the power of light and love, we can work with those who are in positions of national and world responsibility and contribute to a better future for all of us.

Astrological update on 2nd August 2020 by astrologer Patricia Godden BSc PhD dip WESA FAPAI.

On 3rd August, there is a full Moon. The Sun is in Leo and the Moon will be in Aquarius. As the Sun signifies spirit and the Moon the soul, this aspect can be interpreted as the love of spirit being reflected in our dealings with the community and humanity. We can bring the warmth, love and generosity of Leo in an objective and impartial way into society.

Uranus in Taurus is square to both the Sun and the Moon at the time of the full Moon. All are in fixed signs. While this can emphasise the power of perseverance and determination, if taken too far, it could indicate stubbornness. The Sun-Uranus interaction brings an urge towards individuality but much depends on how we express that. We could insist that we are right and want our own way. Alternatively, we could choose to consider others in society and think about whether there is a better option that could be for the good of all concerned.

This Sun-Uranus square highlights further opportunities. The Sun in Leo is associated with the soul lesson of love. Uranus, sometimes called the truth- and light-bringer, is in Taurus, an earth sign. The time when the Sun in Leo is square to Uranus in Taurus could be an opportunity to bring to Earth the truth of light and love. It may not be easy to do as this aspect is a square. However, there is a lot of energy in a square which, when released, can be used for positive and constructive purposes.

Mercury, the planet of the mind and everyday communication, is in the sign of Cancer, which is linked with our family and home. During the first three days of August, Mercury is opposite Saturn. As Saturn is close to Pluto, and both are retrograde in Capricorn, this could be a time when those in authority say things that touch our feelings and emotions. It is a time of thinking more deeply and at an inner level about the issues that were prevalent earlier this year. For a few days, some people may be thinking and talking more about how they feel and their material circumstances. At this time, Venus forms a quincunx to Saturn as well as a semisextile to Mercury. By being adaptable and flexible, adjusting to what is going on and being willing to try different things, it is possible to make something of the current conditions.

For a few days, Mars in Aries is square to Jupiter that is retrograde in Capricorn. There could be an urge towards greater action to bring about changes in the structure and organisation of establishments. At this time, it is wise to avoid being too rash or impulsive. While change may be necessary, it has to be the right change.  The fact that Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn are all retrograde and close together in Capricorn suggests that due care and attention is given while really deep and fundamental changes are being considered. A semisextile between Mars and retrograde Neptune in Pisces during the first week of August is associated with taking action towards being compassionate. We may also feel drawn to be more proactive in our pursuit of spiritual values.

In the second week of August, Mars is square to retrograde Pluto. A lot of energy and new initiatives could be directed towards changes in the structures of businesses and governments. There is an urge to transform the current systems. While people may be aware of changes going on at a personal or even a national level, there is a deeper level of change taking place as humanity evolves. Over the last two hundred years, there has been a strong emphasis on materialism and wealth. This has ranged from some people having all they want, and more, while others have not had the basics they needed. The emphasis on acquisition and greed is gradually changing as humanity moves into a period of greater equality and awareness of the brotherhood of all life. This is such a major and profound transformation for humanity that it is taking a while to move from what we have known all our lives towards a new way of life, one that is more in line with the advancement not only of the human race but all life on Earth.

Keep well, stay happy.

Astrological update on 23rd July 2020

Three days ago, there was a new Moon in Cancer. This means that the Moon and the Sun were at the same degree of that sign. They were both opposite retrograde Saturn. A new Moon signifies a new beginning and in this instance, of being more aware of our feelings, caring, sensitivity and intuition. However, this new Moon was opposite retrograde Saturn in Capricorn. Some people were more aware of the restrictions they feel in life while others were re-examining the past. With the two luminaries, the Sun and the Moon, being in the same part of the heavens, light was being shone on what we most needed to see.

The Sun has now moved into Leo where it will be for the next month. Leo is the fixed sign when the summer season is well established. We can enjoy the warmth, openness and generosity of life.

At present, retrograde Saturn forms aspects to the nodes of the Moon, currently across the Gemini-Sagittarius axis. It is an opportunity to integrate wisdom learned in the past thoroughly and carefully into everyday communication and interactions with those around us. Mercury is square Mars for a few days at the end of July, so part of that wisdom may mean watching what we say and how we say what we feel needs to be said. While it might take effort, it is possible to promote peace through how we communicate with others.

Venus continues to square Neptune until early August. A Venus-Neptune interaction can stimulate the imagination, so useful for artists and musicians, but the square may indicate that effort is required if there is to be a constructive outlet for this energy. This interaction is associated with ideals, some of which may be unrealistic. Discriminating between what is unrealistic and what can be brought into manifestation with careful thought, planning and hard work is the key to working with this aspect.

Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto were close together in Capricorn in March of this year. They are again close together in Capricorn but now each of these planets is retrograde. This provides us, both individually and collectively, with an opportunity to re-examine what was going on in the early part of the year. What were we trying to learn then? What had outworn its usefulness and needed changing? How can we adjust the strong pull of materialism in order to bring our lives into a more harmonious balance, not only for us and our families but also for the wellbeing of all life on Earth.

There are major changes going on for humanity at present. We are living through a period of evolution that has not been seen for many generations. What a privilege it is to be part of this. By each person doing the best they can, we can work with these changes for the good of all: humans, the animal kingdom, plant life and the Earth itself.

Astrological update on 3rd July 2020

There is a lot happening astrologically over the next couple of weeks, just as there has been during the last two weeks. Saturn has been retrograde since 10th May in Aquarius. On 2nd July, Saturn moves back into Capricorn. This will give us opportunities to look at those structures in our individual lives that need updating. There are also opportunities for those who have authority over us, including the government, establishments and organisations in our society, to re-evaluate current standards and systems. On all levels, there is the potential to examine things more deeply in order to see what needs changing and how to do that responsibly and thoroughly. This is a far-reaching opportunity: extending from what we need to do as responsible individuals to what has to be done on a global basis. It is our responsibility to each other, society and the planet as we all evolve in consciousness.

Mercury continues to be retrograde in Cancer so we can give more thought to our feelings and emotions. Is there anything that we need to revisit in this area of our lives? If we take time to be quiet and look within, we may see what is below the surface that needs attention. By taking time, that which is subconscious may become conscious and enable a new way of thinking to emerge. When Mercury stations on 12th and 13th July, there can be an urge to manifest our thoughts in outer action but they may not find full expression until after Mercury goes direct on 14th July.

Mars is in Aries for the rest of the year. Although Mars is usually only in a sign for about six weeks, it is spending an unusually long time in Aries this time because it will be retrograde here during the autumn. In Aries Mars’ drive for action is most easily expressed. This is providing a lot of energy for the changes that are happening worldwide. Humanity has not experienced this level of change for over two hundred years when the industrial revolution led to much of the way of life we have at present. This has served us well but we are increasingly moving into the Age of Aquarius. This Age relates to freedom, equality, democracy, our roles within society and advances in how we use our minds. The emphasis has been and, to some extent still is, on materiality and measuring people by what they have. This is now slowly being replaced by consideration of how people think and what they know.

There is a lunar eclipse on 5th July. The Sun at 23 degrees of Cancer will be opposite the Moon at the same number of degrees of Capricorn. This highlights our sense of security and how we perceive both emotional and material security. We may gain greater insight into the relative value each of these by quietening the outer mind. It is through inner stillness that we can better explore the essence of our being. This lunar eclipse is the last of this series of eclipses. The next eclipse season starts at the end of November.

Eclipses are felt when they highlight something in a horoscope. This lunar eclipse highlights the position of the Sun in the horoscope of the United States of America. As the Sun signifies the identity and creativity, it will be interesting to see what happens in America over the coming weeks.

From 7th to 9th July, retrograde Mercury is square Mars. This could indicate differences of opinion, irritability or impatience. By thinking about what we say and how it will impact on other people and doing what we can to be patient, we can go a long way to ensure that our communications with others are harmonious.

Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto are retrograde for the whole of July. These planets spend months retrograde each year. With three of them, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, we can re-examine our material lives. This will be in the light of our compassion and spirituality as retrograde Neptune is in Pisces. While the Sun is still in Cancer we may seek inner peace, silence and stillness, in order to look at what is important to us.  It is from inner peace that the best outer action happens. This is dynamic peace. It is something to strive for in the coming days.

Astrological update on 16th June 2020

There is a lot happening astrologically over the next couple of weeks. On 17th June, Mercury stations prior to going retrograde for the second time this year. This will be another opportunity to re-think things, to go over what you have been doing and re-consider them. If outer communication is not as fluid as you would like, you may be able to communicate more with that inner part of yourself, the core of your being. This enables new ideas, ones that you have been too busy to consider, to come to the surface and manifest in your life. Mercury is retrograde until 10th July. It is in Cancer for all of this time so thoughts and communication are about family matters and feelings.

The summer solstice, when the Sun moves into the sign of Cancer, is late in the evening of 20th June. A few hours later, in the morning of 21st June, there is a solar eclipse. A solar eclipse is often considered as a new beginning but it may be weeks or even months before the energy of the eclipse shows how it will manifest. At this solar eclipse, the Sun and the Moon are in the first degree of Cancer and very close to the north node of the Moon, which is in the last degree of Gemini.

With the solstice and the eclipse within hours of each other, there is a lot of emphasis on our intentions and new beginnings, particularly to do with caring and nurturing. While the sign of Cancer relates to caring for other people it also includes nurturing ourselves. However, with the enormous shifts that are taking place in consciousness at present, that energy of caring can be extended to caring for all parts of life.

Cancer is a water sign, so we may be more aware of our emotions and feelings. With the solstice being so close to an eclipse, this can be a new beginning in how we deal with our emotions. We may choose to look for an inner stillness that enables us to enjoy the beauties of this season even more. At a deeper level, we may find that we become aware of the finer and more subtle vibrations of life. As Saturn forms an aspect called a quincunx to the eclipse, we can apply ourselves diligently to what we do and the changes we feel we want to make in our lives.

At the time of the eclipse, Mars is square to both the south and north nodes of the Moon. A lot of energy can be directed into bringing the wisdom of our higher mind into ordinary living. We may find that we reflect on how we can bring our ideals into everyday life.

On the day after the eclipse, Neptune begins its yearly retrograde period. It may seem as if existing ways of perceiving reality dissolve to be replaced by other perceptions. This may concern beliefs, faith and concepts about spirituality. The unconscious may be stimulated and dreams could seem more real.

On 24th June, Venus goes direct after its six-week retrograde period. Issues that were reconsidered during the time it was retrograde, including what we value, our relationships and our own need for love, can be faced directly. This is the time when we are likely to want to implement the new values.

On 28th June, Mars moves into Aries, the sign it rules. Mars usually spends about six weeks in a sign. It will remain in Aries for an unusually long time, six months, as it will stay in this sign when it goes retrograde in the autumn. Mars in Aries is associated with a strong drive to take action, particularly in undertaking new initiatives. This energy can be demanding but plays a vital role in the ongoing changes that are happening this year.

Saturn, retrograde in Aquarius since 10th May, moves back into Capricorn on 2nd July. This will give further opportunities to look again at the structures and organisations within society that were being considered over the previous two and a half years. With the proximity of Saturn to both Pluto and Jupiter, we can look more deeply at what works and what needs changing in order to make the most of this retrograde period.

At the end of June and beginning of July, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto are all retrograde. It is not unusual to have so many planets retrograde at the same time at some point in the year. This year it gives us the opportunity to do more inner work to assess how we view our material security, spirituality and place in the community. If we find that these parts of our lives no longer resonate with our higher self, we may, in due course, begin a process of re-alignment. Contentment comes when we are living our truth; being true to our spirit.

Astrological update on 5th June 2020:

The full moon on Friday 5th June 2020 is also an eclipse. On that day, the Moon is in Sagittarius and the Sun is in Gemini. An eclipse occurs when the Moon is close to the ecliptic, the plane of the orbit of the Earth around the Sun. This means that the Moon is close to one of the nodes of the Moon and the Sun is close to the other node.

At this eclipse, the Moon is close to the south node of the Moon and as both are in Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, this opens the mind to inspiration and awakening of the higher consciousness. With the Sun close to the north node of the Moon in Gemini, we can do our best to bring this awareness into our daily communication with other people. Mars is square to both the Sun and the Moon at the eclipse so there is a lot of energy available at this time, particularly mental energy. Mars is in Pisces, which is related to compassion as well as interest in spirituality. Taking time to relax and let the mind quieten can facilitate absorption of inner guidance from higher realms. A state of inner calm can also offset any tendency to be impatient or irritable.

The close proximity of Venus to the Sun at this eclipse indicates the pleasure that interacting with other people can bring, particularly now some of the restrictions of lockdown have been eased.

At the time of the lunar eclipse on 5th June, the Sun, Moon and Mars form a configuration called a T‑square. It is in mutable signs indicating versatility and adaptability. The resolution of this T‑square is in Virgo. At this time of high mental energy, being practical and down-to-earth, paying attention to detail and giving service can all be ways of using the available energy constructively.

The dispositor of the Moon and the south node of the Moon, Jupiter, is retrograde. The Moon and south node represent the past. When a planet is retrograde, there are opportunities to go over something again, reiterating the theme of looking at what we can learn from past conditions. Retrograde Jupiter is close to retrograde Pluto and retrograde Saturn. These three outer planets were close together earlier this year although they were direct at that time. Now these planets are again close together but retrograde we have opportunities to tackle issues that were not completely resolved. These could be issues about how power is used or establishments and organisations in our society that have outworn their usefulness. There is the potential for new ideals and structures to emerge that could help humanity to align to its ever-evolving consciousness.  Venus, the planet of values, is also retrograde and this adds to the possibilities to re‑examine our values and establish what we need to do on the path forward in life.

Long-term cycles in the movement of the planets can span many generations. Saturn was conjunct Pluto in Capricorn on 12th January 2020. The last time this happened was in 1518, about the time of the reformation. A Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn can be associated with major changes in the structure and organisation of society. There can also be a transformation in the use of power.

Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions happen every twenty years and, for about 240 years, they are always in one element. Apart from one Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in 1982, which was in the air element, all conjunctions over the last 240 years have been in the earth element resonating with the rise of industrialisation and importance placed on material wealth. At the end of 2020, the element of these conjunction changes to the air element. The conjunction in 1982 was an indication of Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions for the next 240 years. Jupiter expands whatever it touches and Saturn indicates discipline and responsibility. When these two planets are conjunct in air signs, humanity learns more about the mind and mental activities. In the current age, this will be accompanied by an increase in technology, democracy and increased awareness of the responsibility to and for the community.

These are just two of the major long-term planetary cycles that reflect the rate and extent at which life is changing. Openness and adaptability are two qualities that can assist in not only coping with these changes but also making the most of them.

Astrological update on 21st May 2020:

The new Moon on Friday 22nd May 2020, that is when the Moon and Sun are conjunct, is at the beginning of Gemini. On that day, Mercury and retrograde Venus are also conjunct in Gemini but further on in the sign. The south node of the Moon is also in this sign but at the very end of it. Gemini is the sign that relates to activity of the mind and communication. Very simply, this new Moon can be linked with a new beginning in enjoying talking with other people.

The role of Venus in the current situation is perhaps greater than is at first obvious. Venus is retrograde and square Neptune. Venus relates to harmony and what we value. A square between Venus and Neptune can indicate vagueness or uncertainty in these areas of life.  When Venus is retrograde we can examine the harmony in our lives as well as what we value. A deeper and more fundamental sense of harmony may surface from the subconscious. Our values may change to be more closely aligned with those of our higher self.

In the last update, the link between wearing masks and the Venus-Neptune interaction was mentioned. Another feature relates to our senses. Venus rules the sense of touch. At present, for all that we would love to hug friends and family that live in other households, we are not allowed to do so. Social distancing is necessary. Neptune is often associated with dissolving boundaries but with the square to retrograde Venus this ideal seems unachievable, at least for the time being.

The sense of taste is linked with Taurus, which is ruled by Venus. Loss of the sense of smell and taste are now considered to be symptoms of coronavirus. Could the loss of the sense of taste be linked with the square between Venus and Neptune?

Mercury is also square Neptune. It is more challenging to be clear in our thinking. While there can be many different thoughts about many different subjects, it might not be easy to find the true way through the plethora of ideas and ideals.

Although squares are a tense energy, they can, with effort, be used with positive outcome. The square between the Mercury-Venus conjunction and Neptune is an opportunity to look more closely at universal themes. Thoughts may turn to ideals for better world conditions. The imagination of artists may be more vivid and lead to new and visionary works of art. An interest in spirituality could deepen. In all these areas, being realistic in what can be achieved and discriminating between what is possible and what is unfeasible is beneficial.

Several days after the new Moon, Mercury moves to form a conjunction with the south node of the Moon. This conjunction forms an aspect called a quincunx to the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction. Quincunxes are associated with adapting and adjusting to what is going on. These quincunxes could be associated with talks about the structure of our society, where we have come from in the past and the changes taking place.

Three of the outer planets are still in their yearly retrograde phase. Jupiter and Pluto are in Capricorn, which is associated with major changes in the structure of organisations. Saturn is in Aquarius, which is linked with commitment to society and humanitarian causes. The changes we are seeing around us mirror these events in the solar system. A profound transformation is taking place worldwide, moving humanity on from old values of the Piscean Age into new values of the Aquarian Age. The Aquarian Age is the age of the brotherhood of all life: humans, animals, plants, the environment; in fact all life on planet Earth.

Astrological update on 1st May 2020:

The nodes of the Moon are points in space where the orbit of the Moon around the Earth crosses the orbit of the Earth around the Sun. The nodes of the Moon pass through the whole zodiac in 18 years, spending about 18 months in each sign. Over the last 18 months, the nodes of the Moon have been moving across the Cancer-Capricorn axis emphasising structures, materiality, emotions and nurturing in the widest sense of the word. On 5th May, the nodes of the Moon move to the Gemini-Sagittarius axis. This changes the focus. There will be greater emphasis on communication, interacting with others and expanding the higher mind. Long distant travel, freedom and ideals may be highlighted.

On 7th May, there is a full Moon when the Sun is in Taurus and the Moon is in the opposite sign of Scorpio. Both of these signs are of the ‘fixed’ quality indicating stability, determination and perseverance. Currently, humanity is persevering with the conditions imposed upon it due to the pandemic. Taurus is an earth sign and relates to service, which so many people are giving at present: from the front-line workers to those doing their best at home. With the full Moon in Scorpio, a water sign, there are opportunities to find peace by going deep within ourselves then trying to bring that into our daily lives.

For a day or two at the time of the full Moon, Mercury forms a harmonious link with Neptune bringing opportunities to be imaginative. Mental activities can be directed towards visions and ideals. This aspect is followed by another harmonious link from Mercury, this time to Pluto. There is much potential for discussions about the right use of power. As Pluto is retrograde, there are opportunities to let ideas surface from the subconscious mind and rethink some facets of our lives.

Over the next couple of weeks, Saturn, then Venus and then Jupiter go retrograde. The outer planets go retrograde each year but Venus only does so every eighteen months. When a planet is retrograde, we have the opportunity to look at issues associated with that planet from an inner level and go over those things again to see how we can improve them.

Saturn has been in Aquarius since 22nd March 2020. Since then, there has been restriction of social interactions but much greater awareness of the community and the help given by volunteers in many areas of life. On 10th May, Saturn appears to stop moving in the sky prior to going retrograde. For a couple of days, it could seem as if we have moved into the slow lane. On 12th May Saturn begins its yearly retrograde period. This allows us to rethink the rules, to examine what is no longer serving our higher purpose and ultimately incorporate new ideas into our lives.

Venus is the planet of harmony, unity, balance and values. On 12th May, Venus also stations so it is a time to take stock of our values. On 14th May Venus begins its retrograde period. It is a time to work out where we are not in line with our highest values and what we need to do to bring back harmony and balance into our lives.

On 13th May 2020, Mars moves from Aquarius, linked with objectivity and the community, into the kind and compassionate sign of Pisces. There could be a stronger desire to follow a spiritual path. Some people may find that they are more intuitive.

With Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, forming a square with retrograde Venus, it will be helpful to be realistic about what can be done rather than unrealistic or disillusioned by a lack of understanding. Interestingly, Venus is associated with our appearance and Neptune relates, amongst other things, to illusion. There is much talk in the media about face masks: masking our appearance. The question is what is really being masked? Is it our physical appearance or our spirituality? The time of the Venus-Neptune square could be used to look at our spiritual values.

Also on 13th May, Jupiter stations and goes retrograde on 15th May. The retrograde period of Jupiter encourages us to take inner counsel, to examine our moral code, sense of justice and integrity. This is like a self-correcting device.

With Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all retrograde simultaneously and the close proximity of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, the world is going through a profound transformation. There are opportunities to review what we value in our lives as well as the structures in society. By looking at how, or even if, these still serve us, there is the potential to change what has been outgrown so new ways can emerge.

Throughout this time, there is a gentle harmonious interaction between Uranus, the truth- and light-bringer, and Chiron, the ‘wounded healer’. This indicates that humanity could realise more about how we have treated ourselves and planet Earth and look for pioneering ways to resolve the issues. It might not be easy but, with a bit of effort, there are abundant opportunities to do this.

Astrological update on 21st April 2020:
The new Moon in the early hours of 23rd April falls in Taurus. Taurus brings the soul lesson of love through service. We are well aware of the service so many people are giving to others at the present time. The fixed earth sign of Taurus is linked with being practical and down-to-earth. It is also associated with reliability and determination. Steadiness, stability and security are further key words. You might like to ponder on these qualities during the coming month. In the present climate of the pandemic, being steady and keeping on with what you can do can bring a sense of calm.

Taurus is ruled by Venus so this sign is linked with awareness of the beauty of nature through the senses. For those who are able to go out for daily exercise, focussing on the delights of nature can bring much joy. If you are unable to go outside, there are still many ways you can connect with the pleasure the physical senses can bring. This could include consciously looking at the view from your window and trying to spot something you have not seen before. You could listen to bird song or even the reduction of traffic noise. Being more aware of your sense of touch, the texture of your clothes or objects around you, helps you become more aware of life even when it may seem so restricted. Savouring your food is another very Taurean quality.

The new Moon is close to Uranus. As Taurus is the steady and consistent sign of the zodiac, its energy is in contrast to that of Uranus, which can be sudden or unexpected, original and different. Uranus is sometimes called the truth- and light-bringer. The proximity of the new Moon to Uranus may bring changes. Inventive inspiration may open up exciting and original ways of doing things. Our sense of values may change. There is the potential to become more aware of the needs of the community.

Pluto is associated with transformation both individually and globally. On 26th April, Pluto, the outermost planet and currently in Capricorn, begins its yearly retrograde period. When a planet is retrograde, there are opportunities to re-examine ground already covered. This may be to get to a deeper level of an issue or allow what is in the subconscious to surface. During the periods when Pluto is retrograde in Capricorn, there are openings to examine what changes need to happen in the structure of society. Over the next few months of the retrograde period, people, both individually and collectively, can look at their lives to see if facets of it could be better organised. This is not about being more efficient, but rather at looking at those parts of our lives that no longer serve us; seeing if they can be removed to make room for something more in line with our current stage of development. One of the fundamental facets of Pluto in Capricorn can be a change in the basis of our lives: from materiality to greater awareness of spiritual values.

The original article:

Some astrological background to understanding the current situation of a global pandemic:

During 2019, Saturn was approaching Pluto in Capricorn. These planets were joined by Jupiter in December 2019. The keywords associated with this are:

  • Capricorn signifies structure, the establishment and organisations.

  • Pluto is about transformation

  • Saturn indicates limitations and learning things thoroughly

  • Jupiter expands whatever it touches

Putting this together suggests that there was much need for change. Many now realise that life had become hectic and stressful, with people wanting more and more from each other and from the planet. The situation was unsustainable. The solar eclipse on 26th December 2019 indicated a new beginning, but no one realised the magnitude or the extent of the forthcoming changes.

In February, Mars joined these three planets in Capricorn, adding energy to the existing situation. Our lives started to change. The virus was declared a pandemic and the financial markets declined. On 22nd March 2020, Saturn moved from the earth sign of Capricorn into the air sign of Aquarius. Mars followed on 30th March. The financial markets recovered a little as there were fewer planets in earth signs.

Aquarius relates to being detached. At this time, we have been told to observe social distancing. People cannot meet friends or family members who live in different households, but they have the opportunity to build closer relationships with those they live with. Aquarius is also linked with the community and humanitarian activities. More people are volunteering to help those in need. Neighbours talk to each other. When communities clap in recognition of the wonderful work of the NHS, they feel more connected to each other while in isolation. Aeroplanes are associated with the air sign of Aquarius. With Saturn in this sign, there has been restriction in air travel, another limitation in our lives. However, this has made the world much quieter. There are no vapour trails. The air is much cleaner. There is less environmental pollution. There is time for the earth to heal from what humanity has done to it.

Over the last few weeks, Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, has been approaching Pluto and they were conjunct on 5th April 2020. The potential for transformation is great. Some have said that life will never be the same again. The question is, would we really want it to be exactly as it was? Could we sustain that lifestyle? Could the earth endure all we were doing to it? Many people are rethinking their lives and realising that it is time for change. While we have to stay at home in accordance with Government guidelines, there is much that we can do. We can take this opportunity to look at what needs to change in our own lives. Already, many are working from home instead of having long journeys to work. We have rationalised shopping habits, freeing up time for other activities. Daily exercise has become something to look forward to instead of something that somehow had to be fitted into a busy schedule. Change has been brought to us at a physical level but we can take the opportunity to see what we could change at an emotional level, in the way we think and at a spiritual level.

At the full Moon on 8th April 2020, the Sun and Moon are opposite each other across the Aries-Libra axis. Both are square to the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn forming a configuration called a T‑square. This is full of active energy. The resolution of this tense configuration is in the sign of Cancer. Cancer is about caring; for others and for ourselves. It is also associated with being sensitive and intuitive. You might like to feel what is right for you now, taking other people also into consideration.

This is a wonderful opportunity to transform those facets of our lives that are no longer sustainable. The current situation is tragic for some people, and causing financial distress for many more, but we have already seen good come out it. It is likely that much more good will come out of it as time goes on.
